Every first Thursday of the month, the southeast car scene migrates to the Heart of Atlanta for a grassroots car show/ meet and greet known as The Varsity meet. The masses consist of mostly imports, with cliques of muscle cars and even Classics joining in the fun and showing off their hard work.

I set out one rainy afternoon to Road Atlanta where I heard The Porsche Club of America was racing for the weekend. About a mile from the track I could hear the sound of Porsche motors screaming down the straights and to my amazement, upon arrival I found hundred’s of Porsche’s prepping for another run. The cars themselves, mostly race prepped wearing exotic paint schemes and stickered tattoo’s showcasing their favorite brands and sponsors that got them there, all ranged from classics to 944’s, 911 Turbo’s and a handful of GT3’s. The weather that weekend gave them hell and as I caught the tail end of the event, I learned

/autoent/imagenews/triplethreatii/triplethreatii.jpg As a regular summer occurence, Southeast Drift held the annual Triple Threat event in downtown Atlanta LEGALLY in the Turner Field parking lot. Of course the regulars were there Drift Mechaniks, Team Rowdy, Garage Zero, Enjuku Racing and some guys from Missouri (sorry we didn't write down your names) We hadn't covered a drift event in quite a while, but the atmosphere in Atlanta before these events is so thick, we wanted it to bleed into the video. The day was overcast, there were a few suprises for the media guys and there was a helluva lotta

Here we are again at Turner Field for the first drift event on the SEDA calendar for 2009. The turnout was tremendous seeing that this was the first time in a while a lot of the local drifter got a chance to get out and smoke up some rubber the legal way. I was especially excited to see the guys from Drift Emporium and their array of motor swaped monsters get out there and flail whilst they sort out the kinks before the Formula D season starts.

We were invited by Marco and the drift mechanics crew to their relapse event held at a secret location. However you really have to stretch the meaning of the word secret when you’re talking about gathering some of the loudest, smoke churning, drift machines in the southeast, in one place and hoping it stays a secret. Being that this was an “in the know” type of show, there was no shortage of skilled drivers. The coarse was set up for high speed high risk entries and clipping points carried an even higher risk; of un wanted inching an scratching in the form of Lindsey Lohan , and Paris Hilton life size cutouts. Tag at your own risk gentlemen!
